The Job:

HOYTS Melbourne Central are looking for a Functions & Events Manager! This is a site-based role where you will take ownership of on-the-day execution — working closely with our Sales team to translate confirmed event briefs into clear operational plans. You will coordinate teams, resources and setup on the ground, ensuring every event runs smoothly from bump-in to pack-down and reflects the standard we expect at HOYTS.

Melbourne Central is one of our busiest CBD locations, and this role sits right in the middle of the action!

While no two days are the same, your duties will include:

• Leading the operational delivery of corporate events and private bookings
• Translating Sales briefs into clear execution plans for site teams
• Acting as the primary on-site contact for clients on event days
• Coordinating across cinema leadership, projection and food & beverage to ensure the right resources are allocated
• Overseeing event setup, technical installations, presentation standards and pack-down
• Managing run sheets, timings and AV requirements
• Briefing and supervising event staff
• Resolving issues quickly and calmly while maintaining high service standards

About You:

You are a confident operational leader who thrives in fast-paced environments. You are someone who enjoys being in the middle of the action and making things happen. We are looking for:

• Experience delivering corporate or private functions in hospitality, venue or entertainment environments
• Strong coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and operational touchpoints at once
• Confidence working with AV, technical setups and event installations
• Clear and professional communication, particularly when translating event briefs into action with site teams
• A calm, solutions-focused approach in fast-paced or high-pressure environments
• A hands-on leadership style; comfortable being present on the floor and working towards KPIs and operational targets

Availability:

As a live entertainment venue, HOYTS operates seven days a week. This role requires flexibility to align with event schedules and peak trading times, including evenings and weekends.
